Our Story

    The Vintage Company was started by two sisters.  We came up with an idea that merged two things we love, candles and vintage art.

    Like a lot of people we burn candles constantly.  We ran into candles not burning evenly or emitting enough fragrance.  So we decided to make our own.

    In researching candle making we discovered soy wax and were amazed that the candles we had been burning not only came from petroleum but that they were emitting toxins whenever we burned them.

    We started making candles with 100% soy wax and were very happy with the results.  The wax is so creamy and is even water-soluble  (so if your candle wax ever spills you can clean it up with soap and hot water!)

    We also were able to create highly scented candles that would permeate the whole room, which is a must for real candle lovers.

    We selected unique jars and added vintage art to make the candles a real decorative addition to the room!

    We started out  making candles in our kitchen and selling them at local farmers markets. 

    While we have expanded to the point of no longer being able to attend the local markets we still maintain the same original standards of hand mixing and hand pouring each batch and perfectly scenting every candle.

    We pour our candles once they are ordered so that anyone who buys a candle from us is guaranteed to get a fresh candle that has not been sitting on a shelf for months losing scent.
